Terms used in this document align with those defined in the Accessible Canada Act:

Accessibility means making things easy to use and access for people with disabilities. It involves creating environments, products, and services in a way that accommodates the diverse needs of individuals with disabilities, ensuring they can participate fully and equally in various aspects of life.

Barrier means anything that gets in the way of people with disabilities fully taking part in society. This can be physical things like buildings, technological issues, attitudes, or policies that make it hard for them to participate equally.

Disability means any condition that makes it difficult for a person to fully participate in society. This includes physical, mental, intellectual, cognitive, learning, communication, or sensory issues, or functional limitations. These conditions can be permanent, temporary, or happen from time to time. When these conditions interact with barriers, they make it challenging for a person to be fully involved in society.
