Brink’s Canada Fuel Surcharge

The fuel surcharge effective July 1, 2020 to September 30, 2020 will be 3.25%.

The fuel surcharge for the period beginning October 1, 2020 will be posted the week of September 19, 2020.

Calculation of Fuel Surcharge

Brink's Canada's Fuel Surcharge Table below indicates the quarterly fuel surcharge based upon the average of the previous three reported months average volume weighted monthly retail price of diesel fuel (inclusive of taxes) in Canada, as reported by The Kent Group, a company that monitors fuel prices across Canada.

The fuel surcharge is based on the average quarterly retail of $0.97 per litre.

About our Fuel Surcharge

There are many factors influencing the price of fuel in Canada. Fuel is a considerable variable cost in armoured transportation services and a fuel surcharge is used to help manage volatility in prices.

The average market price of diesel in Canada is reviewed quarterly, and will be reported on Brinks.ca approximately two weeks prior to the effective date. Effective dates are the first day of every quarter:

  • January 1st
  • April 1st
  • July 1st
  • October 1st
